Our Vessel

Island Bound is a custom-built 46 foot Chesapeake built in 2001 to U.S. Coast Guard passenger carrying regulations. Docked at Wentworth-By-The-Sea Marina in New Castle, NH, she is inspected annually by the Coast Guard verifying that she meets all current safety regulations.

Island Bound is powered by a pair of 2005 Cummins 600hp diesel engines, and she is outfitted with state-of-the-art marine electronics and safety gear. Inside the cabin she has seating for 14, enclosed head (bathroom) and bunks below to provide a comfortable environment for the campers. Island Bound's work deck is 16x26 giving ample room for our daily activities.

Camp Ocean Adventures and Island Bound are sponsored by Shakespeare, Ugly Stik rods, Pflueger reels, and Cajun fishing line which guarantees the campers use of the latest and greatest fishing equipment.

Our Crew

Captain and Owner Doug Anderson

has enjoyed fishing and being on the water his entire life, and has been a successful charterboat captain for the past 10 years. His love for the ocean and its sea life is evident in the way he enthusiastically shares his many years of seafaring knowledge with the campers. Captain Doug has placed in many fishing tournaments and has taken top honors in several, and knows the spots to catch the BIG one.

His accomplishments have been featured in regional, national, and international publications. Doug has fished for marlin off the Pacific coast of Panama, giant bluefin tuna off North Carolina as well as New England, and sailfish and marlin off of Key West and Cancun.

In addition, Captain Doug sits on the board of directors for the Northeast Captains Association, Northeast Charterboat Captains Association, and Portsmouth Harbor Tuna Tournament, and is the owner of Sushi Hunter Sportfishing Charters and Island Bound Cruises. Island Bound and Captain Doug are also on the pro-staff team for Raymarine electronics and Airmar Technologies who outfit the boat annually with the latest in marine electronics.

Captain Doug holds a USCG 50 Ton Master Captain's license and is also trained in First Aid and CPR and is a certified S.C.U.B.A. diver.

Captain Ken Anderson Captain : Ken Anderson

Captain Ken Anderson has been working with Captain Doug for the past 9 seasons and is eager to share his extensive knowledge of the working waterfront with the campers. He has worked on tugboats in Portsmouth Harbor and Boston and has been a captain for a local cruise boat for the last 3 years. He also works with the NH Dept. of Environmental Services ensuring our harbors stay clean and healthy. Captain Ken holds a USCG 50 Ton Master Captain's license and is a Certified Firefighter and an Emergency Medical Technician.

Captain: John Moulton
Captain John Moulton is the newest member of our team. He has his own lobsterboat and greatly enjoys sharing his knowledge and love of the ocean. He holds a USCG 50 Ton Master Captain's license, and is a Certified Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician and a certified S.C.U.B.A. Diver. Captain John will be working with us as a deckhand/captain.
Jennifer Bogard Camp Director: Jennifer Anderson
Jennifer Anderson is Captain Doug's wife, and they have worked together for the past eight years. Her dedication and enthusiasm to the program is unmatched. Jen is responsible for coordinating and scheduling your youngster's week at Camp and looks forward to meeting and working with each of the campers.
Crew: Rob Lucas
Rob Lucas has been working with us for the past three seasons. Rob's ability to teach and explain thoroughly and his boundless enthusiasm make him a favorite with the campers.
