What do you have on the boat for safety equipment?
Our boat is inspected and certified annually by the U.S. Coast Guard, and carries their required number of lifejackets, life rafts, and fire extinguishing equipment as well as an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB). The boat is also outfitted with top of the line electronics. Additionally, all of our captains are certified in First Aid and CPR and we carry first aid supplies on the boat. |

Do the kids have to wear lifejackets?
Kids do not have to wear lifejackets aboard Island Bound as the boat's safety railing height has been certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. Kids are required to wear lifejackets, however, when aboard any smaller boat (such as when we are going from a mooring to the Isles of Shoals dock.) |

What if it rains?
Deep sea fishing is one of the most popular and fun ways to spend a summer day in New England.
In the event of a rainy day, we will still continue our camp activities, as there is plenty of cover from the elements on Island Bound. In the event of high winds, we will either stay in the Piscataqua River or we will modify our activities by going to such places as the Seacoast Science Center in Rye or the Albacore submarine in Portsmouth. |

Do the kids get seasick?
Occasionally, but rarely, kids do get seasick, and they usually get over it pretty quickly. We make every effort to try to avoid the sea conditions that cause some kids to become queasy. If you feel that motion sickness medication is necessary for your child, make sure he or she takes it before getting on the boat, as we do not dispense any medications to any of the kids. |

What else should kids bring?
Kids should bring clothing appropriate for the day's weather -- remember it is always cooler on the water, sweatshirt, raingear, rubber boots, sneakers, or teva-type sandals, sunscreen, and a disposable camera to capture each day's events! Kids are asked not to bring any electronic games or music players as we do not allow them. |

Will kids be able to keep the fish they catch?
Yes! The legal-size fish that the kids catch will be filleted, bagged and iced, ready for them to bring home for dinner if they wish. The lobsters that the kids catch will be cooked each Friday afternoon at a lobster bake for the campers and their families. |
